Whether you’ve been a dedicated truck driver for years, you’re an experienced driver looking for your first dedicated trucking job, or you just want to know how having a dedicated route might change your life, you’ve come to the right place.

Not only do our dedicated driving jobs generally allow you to drive the same route daily1 (or weekly, depending on your account), but they allow you to be home with your family on a regular schedule. This way, you can get to know your customers, do the work you love – and spend time with those who matter most.

    FAQs

To help you learn even more about Swift we’ve compiled answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions.

    What's your per-mile pay?

At Swift, your per-mile pay is generally based on verifiable experience, so the more verifiable experience you have, the more you’ll be paid per dispatched mile. It will also be based on where you are driving and the account details. For additional information on our pay scale or a pay quote, talk with a Swift recruiter at (222) 871-3537.

Where can I find information on regional and local jobs in my area?

Swift recruiters have the most current information on dedicated account availability, including regional and local routes in specific areas. Give them a call at (888) 871-3537 for details. If you are a current driver, give our Driver Placement team a call at (888) 871-3537.

Do drivers receive benefits? If so, when do they become available?

Yes! We offer medical, dental and 401(k) plans. Drivers, depending on their experience, may qualify for benefits on the first day of the month after enrolling and completing 30 days of continuous full-time employment OR after 60 days of continuous full-time employment.

How can I become a mentor?

At Swift, we know how important it is for new drivers to have a mentor who can show them the ropes. And we’re always looking for new mentors to enter the program. For details talk with your driver leader.

What type of equipment can I run at Swift?

Currently, we run Dry Van, Refrigerated, Flatbed, Intermodal, Ocean Containers and Heavy Haul.

Am I allowed to bring my dog and/or my spouse on the road?

Yes! We want you to stay connected to those you love while you’re on the road – which is why we have a Dog Policy and a Rider Policy. You can get all the information you need (and the paperwork) at our Driver Qualification Class. For more details on that, contact a recruiter or your driver leader.

Dedicated route schedules may vary based on customer needs and the location. Your driver leader and account leader can provide additional details specific to the account.

“I think experienced drivers should come to Swift because there’s a lot of opportunities. I’ve worked as a driver, driver manager, extended coverage team, and now Swift Academy instructor. It’s family oriented. So it’s not like you’re coworkers and more like your brothers and your sisters.
